Paint Chip 'art'

Here is the infamous 'art' project.  It was easy, yes.  But not as easy as it looks.  It's one of my favorite crafts I've done lately.  It was fairly easy and very cheap to make.  It really jumps out at you when you walk in the room.  I like mine better than the ones I copied from other craft blogs.  I'm going to layer family photos on the shelf with it.  Will post pics when I'm done.  Hopefully I can finish it up in the next couple days, before the boys' sleepover.  I have frames laying around everywhere just waiting to be broken.  I cringe every time the boys have a nerf war.  I also 'borrowed' one of your ideas, Amy.  I made the candle holder next to it.  It started out a little vase and a plain old candlestick with a chip in it.  I had them in storage.  Now I love them ( I have 2). You can't even see the chip now.  I need to get some larger candles for them.  It's on my list.

  1. I LOVE this so much Gina. It is amazing. Not just saying it either. LOVE it! The candle holder looks great too! Can't wait to see it with the pictures framed.

  2. Thanks, Amy! I was thrilled with the finished project. Such a simple idea. I felt a little conspicuous gathering hundreds of paint chips (yes, I still have a ginormous stack of chips) but, oh so worth it. I have paint chip 'art' planned for every room. If for no other reason, just to drive he-who-must-not-be-named crazy. Here's where I found this great idea: http://hopestudios.blogspot.com/2010/07/paint-chip-mosaic-tutorial-tuesday.html Check it out!
